Artificial Intelligence (AI) Awareness at the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is designed to meet the requirements of Government Code § 2054.5191 and Chapter 219 of the Texas Administrative Code, which mandates AI training for state employees. TWC employees and everyone granted access to TWC applications must take this training annually.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand and identify common types of AI and give examples of how they can be used in the public sector.
- Recognize the risks of using AI, such as privacy concerns, data quality issues, and inaccurate results.
- Follow best practices for responsible and ethical use of AI by adhering to TWC’s guidelines to use approved tools, protect sensitive information, and meaningfully review all AI output.
Audience: TWC employees; Workforce Development Board and Workforce Solutions office staff; network partners. References in this training to “TWC employees” or “employees” includes all individuals required to take this training, even if not directly employed by TWC.
